Bacaan I Kejadian 3:1-8. Injil Markus 7:31-37.
*”Maka terbukalah mata mereka berdua… “*
MATA fisik manusia itu sedari awal memang ‘sudah terbuka’. Di bola mata itu tersembunyi hasrat. Ada gelora yang ‘merindu’. Menyimpan keinginan yang membara. Dan si ular itu memang sudah tahu segalanya. Ia tinggal menanti saat. Melesatkan anak panah godaan kata bujuk rayu. Demi menembus batas ‘tahan dan kuasai diri’ si manusia.
POHON buah itu memang baik untuk dimakan. Sedap kelihatannya untuk dinikmati. Memikat ‘hati karena memberi pengertian’ (Kej 3:6). Mata terbuka, hati terpikat, jantung berdebar.. Dan si ular itu lalu ‘tinggal mainkan kata-kata’. Agar perempuan itu, tidak bisa tidak, akhirnya harus:
“mengambil buah itu, lalu dimakannya, dan diberikannya juga kepada suaminya… dan suaminyapun memakannya” (Kej 3:6).
DI SAAT itulah, ‘mata rohani’ manusiapun menyusul ikut terbuka. Itulah ‘mata kesadaran’. Sadar bahwa ada ‘ketelanjangan’ yang membawa ‘rasa malu’. Rasa malu akibat telah terjebak dalam perangkap ‘tampilan’ (buah) dan ‘lembutnya suara’ (iblis). Mata kesadaran bahwa: Relasi diri dengan ALLAH telah ternoda.
MATA FISIK kita memang sering cepat tersilau. Tercahaya oleh aneka glamour apapun yang memikat, menarik dan menawan hati. Dan ‘si iblis yang berputar-putar bagaikan singa mencari mangsanya itu’ (cf 1Ptr 5:8), sekian piawai bertindak. Bagaimana harus mempertemukan hati yang terpikat dengan apa yang diinginkannya?
NAMUN, syukurlah. Kita masih punya satu senjata pertahanan yang tersisa. Itulah ‘mata rohani’ yang masih bening. Karena mata kesadaran itulah, kita jadi siuman bahwa kita ‘telah telanjang’. Bahwa telah jauh kita berjalan dari sang Pencipta kita. Terlanjur menembus masuk dalam “awan gelap dan kepekatan malam” kehidupan ini. Dan inilah saatnya kita berbenah. Mata rohani itulah yang membuat kita bertekad teguh. Untuk bangkit dan kembali melangkah menuju KASIHNYA yang agung: “Aku ingin pulang. Aku harus pulang…”
